Access to Bespoke Experimentation Environments
D3IP delivers an inventory of capabilities that, when combined, create experimentation test ranges truly unique in the UK. Combining our 5G SA and dark fibre networks with facilitated access to land, air, and sea space, D3IP enables defence, law enforcement, and national security customers to test, develop, and research future capabilities and skills.
Dorset Innovation Park
Dorset Innovation Park is home to multiple experimentation spaces that are supported by D3IP’s 5G SA and dark fibre networks. We can facilitate access to the Defence BattleLab Co-Creation Space, as well the Digital Capable Urban-Living Twin (DCULT) and other areas of the park.
These spaces can be configured to meet the requirement of specific experiments. For example, DCULT (AKA Chesil House) has been configured as a smart house that replicates an urban-living environment. It has been fitted with IoT devices, publicly available sensors, and home wifi routers to enable law enforcement experimentation.
This space is already being utilised by our customers and is available to defence; law enforcement; national security; and other public sector organisations.

Lulworth Ranges
Through our relationship with defence partners, D3IP can facilitate access to the Ministry of Defence’s Lulworth Ranges. These military firing ranges, situated between Wareham and Lulworth, Dorset, serve as a test bed for experimentation within approx. 7,000 acres of cleared land.
Lulworth Ranges also benefits from 5G infrastructure, which can be configured to support experimentation requirements. That includes simulating foreign specifications to enable NATO projects or probe the capabilities of our adversaries, for example.
Air & Sea Access
D3IP can also facilitate access to cleared airspace in Dorset for UAS experimentation. That is on top of access to experimental sea space off Lulworth Cove to test naval – and other marine – capabilities.
